    Get PDF
The topic of ward is among the important topics in jurisprudence and Forensic Medicine. Banning literally means prohibiting. The term of prohibition means preventing someone from being involved in financial or non-financial affairs and is called being banned. A person is banned from all affairs such as an unlettered person or some of the affairs such as a dying person. Banning has two forms; it sometimes is in the interests of the one banned from and his/her rights and sometimes for the benefit and the right of others. The objective of this brief article is an evaluation of extent banning applicability in Forensic Medicine topics and its relation with concepts and logics of the Islamic law

This research aims to determine whether there is Financial Distress in BUMN in Indonesia and State Equity Participation. The population in this study were state-owned and non-problematic infrastructure companies registered on the BUMN court website from 2016 to 2020. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling to obtain a sample of 12 companies—data analysis techniques using panel data regression analysis method. The study results show that Return On Equity (ROE) and Capital Expenditure is significant for financial distress. BUMN receives assistance from small and insignificant State Equity Participation (PMN) and is paid to pay off large debts based on the assignment Participation (PMN), Soundness Level of BUMN, Liquidity, and Leverage do not affect solving BUMN financial problems

Distinct element analysis of inter-particle coating variability in a batch seed coater

    Get PDF
Coating of particulate solids by a thin film layer is of interest in many industrial applications such as seed and tablet coating. In seed processing, seeds are commonly coated with a protective coating layer consisting of fertilisers and crop protection products. Rotary drum batch coaters are typically used for this purpose. The coater consists of a cylindrical vessel with a rotating spray disk in the centre, onto which the coating liquid is fed. The seeds are driven around the vessel by its rotating base, and are mixed by two baffles; one on either side of the vessel. In the present study, DEM simulations are used to analyse the seed coating process. Corn seed is used as a model material and its shape is captured using X-Ray micro-tomography (XRT). The shape is incorporated into the simulations by the clumping multiple spheres to form a particle assembly. The coating uniformity of the seeds is predicted by implementing a coating model, whereby the coating mechanism is represented in the DEM by considering that once a droplet contacts a corn seed, it is removed from the simulation and its mass is attributed to the coating mass of the corn seed. The distribution of mass of sprayed spheres on the corn seeds and the coefficient of variation are evaluated for a range of process conditions, such as spinning disk rotational speed, droplets size and baffle arrangement and designs. In addition to evaluation of coating uniformity of particles, the scale-up rules for rotary drum batch coaters are investigated and reported. The outcome provides guidelines on scale-up rules and improvement of coating uniformity for rotary batch seed coaters

Cooperation of dual modes of cell motility promotes epithelial stress relaxation to accelerate wound healing

    Get PDF
Collective cell migration in cohesive units is vital for tissue morphogenesis, wound repair, and immune response. While the fundamental driving forces for collective cell motion stem from contractile and protrusive activities of individual cells, it remains unknown how their balance is optimized to maintain tissue cohesiveness and the fluidity for motion. Here we present a cell-based computational model for collective cell migration during wound healing that incorporates mechanochemical coupling of cell motion and adhesion kinetics with stochastic transformation of active motility forces. We show that a balance of protrusive motility and actomyosin contractility is optimized for accelerating the rate of wound repair, which is robust to variations in cell and substrate mechanical properties. This balance underlies rapid collective cell motion during wound healing, resulting from a tradeoff between tension mediated collective cell guidance and active stress relaxation in the tissue

The Association of Ménétrier Disease with Ulcerative Colitis: A Case Report with Implications on the Pathogenesis of Ménétrier Disease

    Get PDF
Ménétrier disease (MD) is a rare hypertrophic condition of the gastric mucosa. The unusual association of MD with ulcerative colitis (UC) has been reported in the literature in eight cases. Transforming growth factor-alpha (TGF-alpha) is overexpressed in UC and appears to play a role in colonic healing and repair. Overproduction of TGF-alpha in murine stomach has been shown to induce gastric hypertrophy similar to MD. It can be hypothesized that increased expression of TGF-alpha may occur in the gastric mucosa in patients with UC and may lead to MD. We report the ninth case of MD associated with UC. The role of TGF-alpha and treatment with cetuximab are discussed

Flowability assessment of weakly consolidated powders

    Get PDF
The inability of cohesive powders to flow consistently and reliably is a major cause of process downtime and reduced efficiency across a wide range of powder processing industries. Most methods to assess powder flowability fail at low consolidation pressures (<1 kPa). In this paper, the ball indentation technique is used to assess the flow behaviour of two powders at low stresses by determining the bed hardness. In parallel, the powders are subjected to shear testing in a range of high stresses, with the derived unconfined yield strength used, along with the indentation hardness to define the constraint factor (C). By using the latter, which is considered independent of the preconsolidation stress applied, the unconfined yield strength of the powders at low stresses are inferred from the penetration hardness measurements
